Sustainability at Atelier Jungles
Behind every piece of clothing lies a story: how and where it was made. Often, clothing has already taken a long journey before it ends up in the closet — involving cheap labor, international transport miles, and little attention to the environment.
We believe this can be different. At Atelier Jungles, we develop clothing and textile products in a way that it always should have been: fair, local, and sustainable.
With care for both people and the planet, we explore the possibilities of circular production and sustainable fabrics. We do this in various ways:
Sustainable fabrics & sourcing
We work exclusively with sustainable materials: organic textiles, natural dyes, and selected deadstock (leftover stock from major fashion houses that would otherwise be destroyed).
- GOTS and OEKO-Tex certified organic cotton
- Tencel
- Vegan silk (Cupro)
- Deadstock from selected suppliers
- Econyl (recycled nylon, among others for swimwear)
- Natural dyes
Local production in the Netherlands
Our clothing and products are made in our own workshop in The Hague, where we collaborate with local suppliers. This means:
- Less CO₂ emissions due to short supply chains
- Transparency and control over quality
- Fair production close to home
Social impact & employment
We create jobs for skilled workers who have difficulty accessing the regular labor market. They get the chance to apply their craft and creativity with us — making a difference for our customers.
Timeless designs and capsule collections
We believe in style beyond trends: high-quality and versatile pieces that last a long time. This not only supports the environment but also helps you build a capsule wardrobe that is always usable.
Custom work, repairs & upcycling
Our workshop offers extensive custom and repair services:
- Small adjustments before production
- Repair before replace: repair instead of throwing away
- Custom-made clothing and accessories
- Upcycling of existing garments or leftover materials
This way, we extend the lifespan of clothing and reduce waste.
Reducing waste & CO₂-neutral shipping
We use only recycled and compostable packaging (such as mailers made from corn starch). We also encourage customers to recycle or compost again. Additionally, we offset our remaining CO₂ emissions where possible.
