Textile upcycling and circular merchandise for companies

Atelier Jungles transforms existing textile streams into new, high-quality products: from circular merchandise and promotional gifts to workwear, clothing collections, and interior items.

Ideal for organizations that want to reduce their textile waste, tell a strong sustainability story, and seek visible impact – without compromising on quality or design.

What is textile upcycling?

In upcycling, we create new products with a higher added value from existing textiles. Think of old workwear, banners, or leftover materials that transform into bags, aprons, or interior items.

What can you use it for?

Upcycling is suitable for merchandise & corporate gifts, workwear, capsule collections, and interior. Visible impact, directly linked to your brand story.

How do we work?

We inventory your textile streams, develop designs, and produce locally in The Hague. Where necessary, we combine upcycling with new production in the Netherlands.

Upcycling: from textile waste to brand story

Many organizations have closets full of old workwear, event banners, or stock that has never been used. Throwing it away feels wasteful, but keeping it takes up space and yields nothing. With textile upcycling, we create products that are actually used – and strengthen your story.

Which textile streams can we process?

  • old workwear and promotional clothing (with logos)
  • banners, flags, trade show and event materials
  • leftover materials and deadstock rolls from the fashion industry
  • old upholstery, curtains, or interior textiles

Depending on the quality and composition, we determine what is possible for each stream: from bags and aprons to poufs, cushions, or new details in a next workwear line.

What can you use textile upcycling for?

Upcycling is broader than just "a bag made from old clothing." We utilize textile streams for various applications – always with your brand and target audience in mind.

1. Circular merchandise & corporate gifts

Turn old banners, workwear, or leftover materials into new items such as shoppers, laptop sleeves, toiletry bags, or office accessories.

Perfect as a corporate gift, internal gift, or merch with a clear circular story. You can find more examples at textile upcycling & circular merchandise.

2. Sustainable workwear & work clothing

Combine new, locally made sustainable workwear with elements from old clothing: for example, aprons with panels from old jackets, patches, or recycled details.

This creates a recognizable line in which you handle what you already have carefully, and in which employees literally carry the story.

3. Capsule collections & limited drops

For brands and designers, upcycling is interesting for small, distinctive series: limited bags, jackets, accessories, or details within a collection.

In combination with our clothing production & sampling in the Netherlands, you can test with circular lines without immediately building up large stocks.

4. Interior and office

Turn old work clothing, curtains, or promotional materials into new poufs, cushions, wall panels, or other office items. Ideal for reception areas, lounges, or meeting spots.

This is how your sustainable story becomes visible in the interior – not just in a report or policy.

Examples of upcycling projects

Each process is custom-made, but the patterns often resemble each other: an existing textile stream, a concrete need, and an end product that is used daily.

Old company clothing to poufs & cushions

Uniforms and work clothing are carefully dismantled and processed into new covers for poufs and cushions. Perfect for waiting and reception areas, with a recognizable link to the organization.

Event banners to shoppers & laptop sleeves

Banners and flags from events get a second life as bags and sleeves for employees or partners. Each cut is unique, meaning no two items are the same.

Residual materials to circular merchandise

Deadstock rolls from the fashion industry are used for smaller merch items, such as cases, pouches, or desk mats. High-quality materials that would otherwise remain unused.

This is how an upcycling process works at Atelier Jungles

We guide you step by step – from the first idea to delivery. This can be a complete upcycling project or a combination with new production in the Netherlands.

  1. 1. Inventory of textile flows

We map out which materials are available (quantities, quality, logos) and what you want to use them for: gifts, workwear, interior, or a mix.

  2. 2. Concept & product proposal

Based on the textile flows, we work out product ideas: which items fit your target audience, budget, and sustainability goals? You will receive a concrete proposal with options.

  3. 3. Design, sampling & planning

We develop patterns and samples where necessary. This can be combined with new production, such as workwear or items from our clothing production & sampling services.

  4. 4. Production & reporting

Production takes place in our workshop in The Hague. You will receive insight into quantities, processed kilos of textiles, and the type of end products – information that you can use in your sustainability reporting or communication.

We work for brands and organizations that choose circular solutions, upcycling, and local production in the Netherlands.

In addition, we realized circular projects for, among others, the Municipality of The Hague and Erasmus MC.

Frequently asked questions about textile upcycling

What is the difference between recycling and upcycling?

In recycling, textiles are often mechanically or chemically processed into new fibers. In upcycling, we directly make new products from the existing material, with a higher added value and a clear brand story.

What minimum quantities do you need for upcycling?

That varies by project and product type. For smaller items, we often work from a few dozen pieces, for larger projects with kilos of textiles. During an introduction, we discuss what is feasible with your stream.

Can you remove logos and sensitive information?

Yes. We can remove logos and other recognizable elements, make them unrecognizable, or deliberately use them as part of the design – depending on what is desirable for your organization.

Can we combine upcycling with new production?

Certainly. Many organizations choose a combination: a base of new sustainable workwear or products, supplemented with upcycled items from their own textile streams.

Is textile upcycling always more expensive than producing new?

Not always, but upcycling is more intensive than standard bulk production. On the other hand, you give value to waste streams, have less waste, and create a strong story for communication, PR, and reporting.

Do you only work for large organizations?

No. We work for larger organizations as well as for smaller brands and initiatives. Thanks to local production in The Hague, we can also start with pilots and smaller projects.
