In short
- Faster from idea to sample through direct communication and short chains.
- Less risk: start with small quantities (low MOQ) and scale up after validation.
- More control over fit, quality, labeling, and finishing.
- More sustainable due to less transport and transparency in materials.
Why have clothing made in the Netherlands?
- Quality control nearby – direct contact, quick feedback, fewer mistakes.
- Sustainable & transparent – less transport, visibility on raw materials and origin.
- Social impact – produced by a diverse team with craftsmanship in The Hague.
- Customization & flexibility – sampling, small runs, and scalable production.
Many brands discover that "cheaper abroad" often becomes more expensive in practice due to miscommunication, longer lead times, extra samples, and leftover stock. Local production is especially interesting if you want to test, adjust, and scale up in a controlled manner.
The process at Atelier Jungles
-
1) Intake & technical plan
We start with an (online) introduction. You share your vision, target audience, quantities, and budget. We translate this into a realistic schedule and a technical plan: materials, finishing, fit, labels, and production approach.
-
2) Patterns & sampling
We develop a physical sample (based on an existing pattern or a new pattern). During a fitting, we fine-tune details — from fit to finishing — until the product meets your brand and quality requirements.

-
4) Finishing & quality control
Labels, branding, packaging, and final inspection — everything is handled carefully. You receive the collection shipped or you pick it up at the studio.

What does it cost to have clothing made in the Netherlands?
Costs depend on the type of product, complexity, material choice, and quantity. In the Netherlands, you often pay more per piece than with bulk production abroad, but you regularly save on: mistakes, extra samples, miscommunication, and leftover stock.
What your budget consists of in practice:
- Development costs: pattern development, sample(s), fitting rounds
- Production costs: labor + material + finishing (labels/prints/embroidery)
- Logistics: packaging, shipping, any pick-up
Tip: start with a pilot (low MOQ) and scale up after sales data. This gives the best ROI and the least risks.
Do you want an indication for your situation? Share your references, quantities, and desired quality via the contact form — then we can think along more specifically.

FAQ: having clothing made in the Netherlands
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
That varies by product. Often, clothing items start from 25–50 pieces per style. For accessories, this is usually higher. In pilots, custom work is sometimes possible from 10–25 pieces after a consultation.
Can I only have samples made without immediately producing?
Yes. Many brands start with a sampling process to test fit and cost before scheduling production.
How long does the process take from intake to delivery?
That depends on complexity and the number of feedback rounds. Generally, expect several weeks to several months for custom work with patterns and samples. After approval of the sample, production usually follows within a few weeks.
Can you also advise on sustainable materials?
Certainly. We advise on organic, recycled, deadstock, and (where appropriate) circular solutions such as upcycling.
Do you also do workwear or merchandise?
Yes. Also check sustainable workwear and upcycling & circular merchandise.
