Starting a clothing line in the Netherlands | Local clothing production

Do you want to start your own clothing line and have it produced locally in the Netherlands? Atelier Jungles guides you from idea and first sketch to making clothing samples and production in our studio in The Hague.

We work with emerging and growing brands that choose quality, sustainability, and clear communication — instead of anonymous production abroad.

From idea to first collection

We help you sharpen your concept, target audience, and collection build before you invest in production.

Convenient in combination with our guide: starting a clothing line in the Netherlands.

Low editions and testing

You can start small and test with limited editions. Ideal for pre-orders, small drops, and first collections.

Are you unsure between your own design or starting faster? Check: white label production.

Local and sustainable

Production in The Hague, with attention to sustainable materials, fair conditions, and short lines.

Also possible in combination with upcycling & circular projects.

This is suitable for you if you:

  • want to start a new clothing brand and produce locally

  • want to create corporate clothing or merchandise in your style

How we work: steps from idea to production

We work with a clear step-by-step plan, so you understand what is needed before you can produce.

  1. Introductory conversation

In an online or live conversation, we discuss your idea, target audience, desired products, quantities, and budget. We assess whether you are ready for the next step and provide an initial indication of feasibility.

Still early in your process? Also check: starting a clothing line in the Netherlands.
  2. Design, patterns, and samples

Based on your sketches, references, or existing clothing, we develop patterns and make the first samples in our studio. You try them on, give feedback, and together we adjust until it’s right.

    Sample rates

€44.50 per hour (ex. VAT). Prior indication of hours. All samples and patterns are then your property.

You can also choose to only have a sample process to test first. Read more: having clothing samples made.
  3. Production consultation and planning

In the production consultation, we make all important choices: materials, colors, numbers per size, labels, packaging, delivery time, and budget. You will then receive a clear price per item and a proposal for planning.

    Production consultation rate

Fixed rate €220,00 (ex. VAT). Duration: on average a morning or afternoon, in our workshop or digitally.

  4. Production in The Hague

After approval, we roll out the production in our workshop. We work in batches, keep you updated, and you are welcome to come by. After completion, you can have it shipped or pick it up.

Realistic costs and minimum runs

Starting a clothing line requires a realistic budget. Important factors are:

  • number of models in your collection
  • complexity of the designs
  • material choice and type of fabric
  • numbers per model and per size

We communicate honestly about what is feasible. Do you want to get a sense of the costs? Also read: what does it cost to start a clothing line.

Sustainability and circular choices

Many brands and organizations want to not only create beautiful clothing but also handle materials and production more consciously.

We can help with:

  • selecting biological and recycled materials
  • utilizing deadstock fabrics
  • upcycling of existing textile streams
  • smart collection building with less waste

These brands have gone before you

We work for brands and organizations that choose circular solutions, upcycling, and local production in the Netherlands.

Frequently asked questions about starting a clothing line and production

Do you also help with starting a clothing line?

Yes. We guide you from the first idea through patterns, samples, and production in our studio in The Hague. Starting point: starting a clothing line (guide).

What is your minimum order quantity for clothing production?

For clothing, the minimum order quantity is usually between 25 and 50 pieces per style. For accessories, often between 25 and 100 pieces. In some cases, custom work is possible from 10 to 25 pieces after a production consultation.

Can I only have samples made without immediately taking production?

Yes. Many starting brands begin with a sample process to test fit and cost price before going into production.

Do I need a fully developed design before I contact you?

No. A clear direction, examples, sketches, or reference products are enough to get started. During the introduction and consultation, we refine it together.

What are the costs to have a clothing line produced in the Netherlands?

That depends on material, complexity, and quantity. In the production consultation, we create a transparent budget and price per item. Also read: costs of starting a clothing line.

How long does the process take from idea to first production?

If you still need to start with patterns and samples: a few weeks to a few months (depending on models + feedback). The production phase itself usually takes a few weeks after all choices have been made.

Do you also work circularly or with sustainable materials?

Yes. We work with organic, recycled, and deadstock materials, and we also do upcycling. See: upcycling & merchandise and UPV textiles.

Can I visit your studio?

Yes, by appointment. In an introduction in The Hague, we will go through your plans and the steps to production together.
